The Foley Report: Updates on Safety, Rail Corridor, Dana Point Harbor, 2028 Olympics

For the past two years, the Fifth District saw 64 percent of the county’s overall job growth. The Dana Point Harbor is a key driver of job creation and economic vitality for the Fifth District and Orange County. Prior to January 2023, no progress was made on utility permits, construction plan approvals, and most importantly, the hotel approvals from the California Coastal Commission. In the past two years, we’ve added eight phases of docks, with eight more to go. We helped obtain Coastal Commission approval for the hotels last summer, and final permits are imminent.
